A door controller
The lock has to be told when to release. On UniFi that's an Access Hub, which drives the lock and holds the entry rules.
A reader or intercom
Something for people to present a card, phone or fob to — or an intercom so a resident can let a visitor in.
A PoE switch
The hub and reader are powered over the network cable. That means a PoE switch with enough ports and enough power budget for the doors you're doing.
Backup power
A fail-safe lock releases when power is lost. A UPS on the door hardware keeps the door secured through a blackout.
